• back:  situated on Jacques Ave was incorporated in 1871 and is under the management of trustees chosen by the city.  The hospital has received from the estate of George Jacques and from the gifts and bequests of many other citizens, a sum amounting to over $500,000.  It has also a training school for nurses.
