Military Real Photo postcard

• mailed from Coblentz previous to 1926 when the city used Koblenz afterwards
• Believe that these are German soldiers - but could be French?  
• One of the uniformed men is holding a German helmet, one a coat, one shining a shoe.  There is a metal container which may have been used for laundry.  One has a long stick with a brush on the end which may have been used for the cannon?
• All but one of the men appear to be wearing brimless hats with a couple of circle emblems (one above the other).  Man in the center of the back is wearing a hat with a brim and the army man next to him is also wearing a dark uniform too, where the others are wearing white jackets. 
• There is writing on the front but I an not sure what it states, but in the center it appears to be 4/23, which may mean April of 1923
