Black Americana postcard -
This card is written on in french and hand dated 1899 / Even though it is not from the states, I am leaving it in the Black Americana category here.
Shows a drummer boy (or man) - that is all decked out in his red coat with tails. His hands each have a stick with a rounded part at the end and he appears to be hitting a musical piece that has been fitted to the side of the blue and white drum - there is also a flat metal disk and a bell that has been fitted to the top side. Therefore he would have been able to make all kinds of sounds......like a one man band!!
Someone added glitter to the card. Stock seems to be fairly thin and there is a small tear to the right edge, just below center. A cute card.
publisher icon of possibly P P and there is 510 on the stamp box
- Please note that the majority of the cards are over 50 years old and as such, are sold AS IS. Tears will be noted but it would be too timely to note each fault on every card. If condition is important to you - contact us with our number in the title & what it is that you would like to know or what it is that you would like pictured more closely.
- Because of the age of the cards - they are noted as being USED - no matter if they are written on or not.
