• mailed 1936 from Oakland  with a LOGO or slogan killer strike cancel Buy U. S. SAVINGS BONDS  ASK YOUR POSTMASTER
• back states:  that tree was hollowed by fire, leaving four openings at the base, and four supports, hense the name QUADRUPED.  The tree is 33 ft in diameter, about 250 feet tall and estimated 4,000 years old.  The room inside is 20 x 27 feet and is used as a gift shop.  view shows a couple of cabins in behind the tree and an entryway with SEE THE INSIDE - WELCOME - NO CHARGE over the door, and a smoke stack pipe above a window built into the base of the tree
