Iowa real photo postcard
mailed from Waukon, IA on June 15, 1916 - 2 weeks after the flood itself.
titled: Notice two bridge ____ In this view one washed down from point half mile above - Flood June 1, 16 / Payne Photo
Not sure if both of the bridges were railroad bridges.
As I am not 100% sure if the disaster was actually from Waukon or somewhere else - I am leaving it as IOWA.
Image shows the damage, with debris (one of the bridges) sitting on top of the railroad tracks - a house in the distance - a man sitting on something smoking a white pipe etc
Even not being identified as to its actual location, it is still a great depiction of the after affect of the high water.

Please note that the majority of the cards are over 50 years old and as such, are sold AS IS. Tears will be noted but it would be too timely to note each fault on every card. If condition is important to you - contact us with our number in the title & what it is that you would like to know or what it is that you would like pictured more closely.

Again, because of the age of the cards - they are noted as being USED - no matter if they are written on or not.
