KS, KANSAS CITY - QSL HAM Radio Call Card postcard - 2k0200
QSL postcard W0QFQ / Arnold Dart / Kansas
mailed 1957
An Informed person alerted me to the following.........
Your WOQFQ Post Card 1957; Error in description. This is an AMATEUR RADIO QSL CARD. Not a CB (Citizen's Band) card. W0QFQ was a noted HAM operator in the Kansas City Area. I have one of his QSL cards myself. When I was 14 and just getting started in the hobby I used to talk to him on the radio, visited him at this address and received the benefit of his wisdom. He died driving his semi in a bad accident in the 1960's. I wouldn't write this note except: Ham's never want to be confused with CB Radio. Hams are licensed by the FCC IF they pass rigorous theory and code exams. CB's just pay a fee and get on the air in a very narrow area of the radio spectrum. In honor of my friend Arnold Dart I wanted to see if you would correct this description to remove "CB" and use "Amateur Radio" or "Ham" radio instead. WA0HHX Spring Hill, KS. Thanks!
- Please note that the majority of the cards are over 50 years old and as such, are sold AS IS. Tears will be noted but it would be too timely to note each fault on every card. If condition is important to you - contact us with our number in the title & what it is that you would like to know or what it is that you would like pictured more closely.
- Because of the age of the cards - they are noted as being USED - no matter if they are written on or not.
