MANTOLA
- British India S N Co SS Mantola - 9,065 Tons Gross
- Research states that the Steamship was built in 1916 by the Barclay, Curle and Co Ltd at a cost of 146,700 pounds. Disaster struck when she was hit by a torpedo on February 8 1917, with 7 casualties. She sank on Feb 9? while being towed.
- This postcard of the wrecked ship - has definite issues to the left side of the card - as it appears that it had gotten wet at sometime.
- Still, a nice visual of a ship that sunk, over 100 years ago.
