Vintage Real Photo but listed as a postcard.

This old Photo shows what I believe to be a disaster on the railroad track, as it appears that the engine is lower than the tracks themselves.  Not sure of the cause as to why the train tracks were undermined but there is a large crane arm with two heavy duty hooks dangling at the end. L & N is on the side, possibly the bottom of the crane?  There are people around the tracks as well as people above looking down. The engine itself is half buried.

This may be a one of a kind photo but there is no indication as to where it was taken or who took the picture.
