Missouri Real Photo postcard

  • mailed from Kansas City, MO in 1910 with a clear Flag killer postmark cancel with STATION A .  Note is addressed to Mrs. F J Mettler of Knoxville from her son Albert, who arrived there that morning.
  • This real photo postcard has a lot detail in the image.  Starting at the top there are buildings as well as we're almost looks like fire towers or mining towers/elevator of sorts.  A few of the buildings have signs that you can almost make out - the one to the left of center has STAR and one to the right of the last train car has William and McSweeney along with two other lines but these old eyes can't pull the letters. The first train car on the left is a Pullman car with Omena or Tomena below PULLMAN and what appears to be double windows how long with three oval windows. The second car has a man in the entrance - these windows are doubled but they have like an arch above every two.  The third car has Tonopah and Goldfield above the thin windows.  There is a huge number of men mainly (all seeming to be wearing different types of hats) but there are women there as well.  The train station or depot must have been receiving someone special because there are members a band playing in the crowd. There are Horse drawn wagons as well as vehicles, even one towards the right that appears do you have a convertible top partially down with three people wide and what appears to be a driver climbing up to the steering wheel.
  • If you are familiar with old events that happened on June 3, 1910 - then you might be able to find other things in the crowd.
  • Card is in very good condition especially considering it's around 115 years old
  • Please note that the majority of the cards are over 50 years old and as such, are sold AS IS. Tears will be noted but it would be too timely to note each fault on every card.  If condition is important to you - contact us with our number in the title & what it is that you would like to know or what it is that you would like pictured more closely.
  • Again, because of the age of the cards - they are noted as being USED - no matter if they are written on or not.
