back: old "494" steam locomotive, White River Junction, Vermont. Railroading and White River Junction have long been synonymous. Retired in 1938, "old 494" was put on display on April 29, 1957, commemorating railroading and it's part in the nations history
Photo and card published bye Dan Sieberg - plastichrome
view has the train engine, coal car (with Boston & Maine on its side) as well as an old wooden rail car that has 2 windows with awnings on them as well as 2 windows in a raised part of the car. There is an emblem of sorts on the side below the words Boston and Maine
Please note that the majority of the cards are over 50 years old and as such, are sold AS IS. Tears will be noted but it would be too timely to note each fault on every card. If condition is important to you - contact us with our number in the title & what it is that you would like to know or what it is that you would like pictured more closely.
- Because of the age of the cards - they are noted as being USED - no matter if they are written on or not.
